3rd Manyo no Sato Takaoka

Nijoyama Trail Run

The Manyo no Sato Takaoka Mt. Nijo Trail Run, a trail running event held in Takaoka City, Toyama Prefecture, is a full-fledged trail running course with one lap of 25 km around the mountain range of Mt. Futagamiyama, approximately 274 m above sea level.

On a clear day, there are scenic spots where you can see the scenery from the Tateyama Mountain Range to the Noto Peninsula, and this course will satisfy both beginners and advanced skiers.

Nijoyama Park, which the Mt. Nijo Manyo Line passes through, is part of the Noto Peninsula Quasi-National Park, and along the route there are sightseeing spots such as the ruins of Moriyama Castle, the Heiwa Kannon statue, the Otomo family statue, the Buddhist stupa, and the Manyo Botanical Garden. It is scattered.
Mt. Nijo has been revered as a divine mountain since ancient times, and was loved by the Manyo poet Otomo Ieyamochi, who left many poems related to the area around Mt. Nijo. We hope that all participants will be able to fully enjoy the beautiful scenery that has been loved since ancient times.

We need to preserve Mt. Nijo, which we have been familiar with since childhood, for future generations as a place of relaxation for the citizens of Takaoka. By holding a tournament once again on Mt. Nijo, which was once crowded with many people, through the sport of trail running, we hope to rediscover the splendor of Mt. Nijo and spread the appeal of Mt. Nijo as a tourist resource. I think so.
